Jessi Callinsky
Jessi Callinsky recently received her associates degree from Pierce College Fort Steilacoom. She is continuing her education at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management. Jessi is motivated by resilience, innovation, and a desire to create a better future for her family and community. As a first-generation college student and single mother, she has excelled academically while balancing parenthood, and she aspires to lead projects that emphasize safety, sustainability, and integrity—building spaces that positively impact communities and set a strong example for her daughters.
Winter Medical Scholarship
One $1,000 Scholarship Award
Cindy Ugochi Emenalo
Cindy Ugochi Emenalo graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2021 with a BS in Pre-Professional Studies and Spanish. She is currently a third-year medical student set to graduate from Emory University School of Medicine in May 2028. Cindy’s love for medicine is rooted in her deep appreciation for patients’ stories and the power medicine has to create positive change. She is especially drawn to medicine’s unique blend of advocacy, service, and science, and is committed to serving historically underserved communities through research, public health, and compassionate patient care. Cindy aspires to be a physician who honors each patient’s story while working to build trust, equity, and better outcomes in the communities she serves.

Alaina Mallette
Alaina Mallette graduated from undergrad in May 2013 with a BA in Geography and Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture (Syracuse University) and from graduate school in December 2016 with a MS in Environmental Science (SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry). To date, she has been accepted into four law schools. Alaina’s journey reflects a lifelong commitment to public service, environmental stewardship, and collaborative land-use planning shaped by experiences ranging from local community service to international work with the Peace Corps and as a Fulbright Scholar. Through hands-on work with municipalities and diverse communities, she has developed a passion for bridging government, community interests, and environmental protection, which now drives her pursuit of a legal career focused on creating more livable and sustainable communities.

Makenna Lazorishchak
Makenna Lazorishchak will graduate from Central Michigan University this Spring (2026). She will attend Central Michigan’s DPT program starting May 2026. Makenna demonstrates a deep commitment to physical and occupational therapy through a strong foundation of empathy, resilience, and patient-centered care. Grounded in a deep sense of compassion and strengthened by studies in psychology, Makenna is committed to helping patients feel understood, supported, and confident throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Kevin Nasralla
Kevin Nasralla graduated from Freehold High School last June and is currently attending Rutgers University Honors College. Kevin is a first-generation college student whose leadership and service within his community have shaped his academic and career goals. Driven by a passion for problem-solving and equity, he plans to expand access to computer science education in underserved communities by developing accessible, community-informed programs that empower the next generation of innovators.
Winter Nursing Scholarship
One $1,000 Scholarship Award
Milton Friedman Tsi
Milton Friedman Tsi is currently completing his undergraduate studies at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). He plans to transfer to Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC, for the Fall semester to continue his nursing education. Milton is pursuing a nursing career driven by a long-standing passion for healthcare, hands-on experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and a strong commitment to service and compassion. After completing nursing prerequisites and preparing for program entrance exams, he aims to become a registered nurse with a focus on community health or geriatric care, and ultimately pursue advanced practice to serve vulnerable and underserved populations locally and globally.
We were truly impressed by the remarkable number of scholarship applications we received. Each submission showcased exceptional effort, determination, and ambition. The volume and quality of entries are a testament to the countless hours of study, personal sacrifice, and steadfast commitment applicants have devoted to pursuing their educational goals.
